Weaving the River is a creative project to create a sculptural fence along a section of the Tivey Street frontage of the Arts Hub garden. The Loddon River – Bulutjal Yaluk – and its floodplain will be the conceptual focus, weaving river stories into our river-edge Arts Hub. The community art project led by artists Aunty Marilyne Nicholls, Roger McKindley and Forest Keegel will wrap a river of weaving around an existing framework of rusted steel ‘railway line’ fence posts, adding sculptural elements and mandala-like metal objects within the garden space. Practically it will create an ‘art fence’ helping separate people-spaces from cars and parking areas and further defining the entry points into the Arts Hub.

The Weaving the River community art project is funded primarily through a grant of $30,400 from Regional Development Victoria’s Tiny Towns Fund. Other support has come from Maldon Community Bank, from supporters who are donating both money and their time and skills.
