Workshop
10am-3.30pm
A painting and drawing workshop.
No experience necessary.
Using charcoal we collect from the embers of our fire stories, work with artist Melissa O’Rourke to weave your own stories into free flowing charcoal drawings. Learn some of the process used to make her latest body of work The Company of Women.
Make your own charcoal paint and use it to create dynamic images. Using gestural brushwork on paper, we will explore faces as a way of evoking landscapes of feeling and feminine knowing. We will tune into stories of women across time and place and delight in the marvellous messiness of charcoal.
Suits all levels of experience from absolute beginner onwards. All materials are provided for you.
