The Illustrated Book

An exhibition by Jo Lane, Lucy Mora & Margot McDonald, three women showing their skills and creativity in the realm of publishing, which was not their original field of expertise. Each has a different story to tell and a different experience of the illustrated book.

‘THE ILLUSTRATED BOOK’ will exhibit the original works associated with the books they have created.

The Books: An early learning language and picture book, Jo’s ‘ABC, Alphabet Art’, one children’s story book for 5 – 9 year-olds, Margot’s ‘Satchmo and Lou’ illustrated by French artist and illustrator Léo Forrest and Lucy’s illustrations for the ‘The Kitchen Garden’ and ‘The Medicinal Garden’ for Thames and Hudson.

Opening on the 2^nd of May from 10am with a celebration at 2pm till 4pm.

There will be an information session to discuss the journeys they’ve taken and what it takes to write, illustrate and publish an illustrated book on the 16th of May from 3pm to 4pm, as well as a workshop to have fun and to aid book illustration techniques with Lucy and Jo with the added bonus of Caroline Parker, author of The Medicinal Garden on the 17th May at 11am.

Original and printed works, as well as books, will be for sale.
