Coming up inside the Hub
Light up your winter with hands-on creativity at the Newstead Arts Hub. A time to come out after COVID lockdowns and be part of our offerings of music, art, writing and stories. Launching with a spoken word open mic, our Embers winter program has something for everyone. Check our What’s On page for details.
Highlights:
Out Loud: A words & stories Open Mic. Poetry or prose, local stories, jokes, songs and more, all invited to the stage. Come and share or just listen and applaud. Sunday 6 June – More details on our What’s On page.
Kids Spark Stories will create an exhibition of stories, supported through kids’ workshops by local author Hannah Collins. A chance to write, draw and read your stories over the June school holidays.
Artist Tony Day will create a community drawing table – space for everyone to make their mark. Can’t draw? This is for you.
Stitch and weave birds with artist Jodie Goldring and turn the Hub into a jungle for the weekend.
Hidden Away, our annual art auction, will reveal some stunning art from the collections of local artists and collectors.
And also there will be stories around the fire to celebrate Winter Solstice, music and more.
