Wonderland

Felicity explores childhood themes and narratives she has continued to visit throughout her adult life and the imaginative state she still visits through dreams, fantasy and daydreams. These places in her mind bring great relief, simplicity, joy and humor.

These pieces play with scale and viewer engagement beckoning the viewer to participate, play and utilise them in their own imaginative ways connecting with play and stories.

All her work is  created in clay, tactile and hand crafted so the viewer can see and be a part of her creation. Plastic white clay is sculptured, wheel thrown and painted with a naive and painterly method to illustrate her inner stories and themes. Works are finished with glossy glazes to mark the permanency and functionality of these pieces.

Felicity is delighted to utilise the old Newstead Railway Station which offers the magic  and romance of past passengers and cargos whistling through on steam trains, connecting with her childhood holidays chasing and riding steam trains with her father.
