The journey of an artist…

Come along to see this stunning exhibition by local painter Bill Beasley.

Places revisited was the title of Bill’s first exhibition  in 1971. Places Revisited…Again, reflects his journey since then. A celebration of style and the evolution of an art practise across the decades. This beautiful exhibition of paintings will fill the Hub with delight.

Artist

Castlemaine artist Bill Beasley gained his reputation as a black and white artist in the late 1960s and 1970s when he illustrated seven of Rigby’s Sketchbook series, including the Castlemaine Sketchbook.  He studied oil painting under Sir William Dargie.  A successful book illustrator, portraitist, cartoonist and teacher, Bill has been artist in residence at many schools, including an International School in Chiang Mai , Thailand.

He has conducted workshops throughout country Victoria and southern New South Wales.  His work is represented in private collections throughout Australia and overseas, regional galleries, Sacred Heart Cathedral Bendigo and Melbourne University’s archival collection. 

Bill is also a trombonist and vocalist in The Louisiana Shakers , one of Melbourne’s leading New Orleans jazzbands.
