Rodney Marchant
Seeing through a photographer’s eyes
Rodney Marchant makes intensely beautiful monochrome photographs of the things that attract his well-tuned photographer’s eye: places across the towns and landscapes of our central Victorian goldfields region, using a modified camera, and printing his own images.
Don’t miss this exhibition. All welcome and (as always) our exhibitions are free.
About the artist
Rodney Marchant’s passion is and has always been monochrome. A member of the Castlemaine Camera Club since moving to Campbell’s Creek 15 years ago, Rodney is also a member of the Australian Photographic Society.
Rodney career in monochrome began after he left the navy and began working in the editorial department of an independent magazine, also doing all of the darkroom work. While working there he completed a Diploma of Illustrative Photography. When the publishing industry started experiencing dramatic cutbacks, he started freelancing, supplying magazines with photos and words and also working for private clients. Finally he took up a position with one of the top photo labs and worked there until he retired.
