Marking Change showcases the collective work of regional Victorian artists Karen Annett-Thomas, Elise Lidgett, and Genevieve Thornton, exploring what it is to be living and working regionally in Australia at a time of unprecedented change.
At a time of global pandemics, climate change and unknown futures the artists record their present-day imaginings, looking to the force of the present as it writes the paths of the future.
About the artists:
Karen Annett-Thomas is a painter on Dja Dja Wurrung country, interested in the immediacy of painting and its capacity to preserve gestures as markers of time.
Elise Lidgett creates photographic works exploring the relationship between humans and the natural environment through the construction of tableaus.
Genevieve Thornton dives into the shifting relationships of earth dwellers by working with biomaterials, discarded industrial textiles and plastics.
