Entries invited now – closing date Jan 22 2025

We are excited to open entries for Newstead Arts Hub’s second annual Small World Sculpture Prize & Exhibition.

The Small World Sculpture Prize is open to everyone and is a showcase for artists at all stages of their careers, from emerging to established. It is a celebration of our diverse and vibrant artistic community.

We are seeking artists’ works in 3D that explore what a ‘small world’ means to them. Through this exhibition we will create space to stop, reflect and focus on small things that can inspire big ideas. Entries from established, emerging and novice artists are welcome.

The entries received will be reviewed and up to 40 finalists selected for inclusion in the exhibition; each finalist will be in the running for the three prizes: a $1000 first prize and a Youth Prize valued at $500, all awarded by a guest judging panel. A People’s Choice prize will be awarded to the piece that hooks the hearts and minds of our visitors.

Entry fees and the 20% sales commission are an important funding source for the Hub, enabling us to continue to stage the exhibitions and events intrinsic to Newstead and beyond.

We look forward to seeing your entry. Max 1 work per artist.

Finalists will be announced Fri 31 Jan 2025. Works will be on display to the public in our showcase exhibition from 8 to 30 March 2025.
