All welcome

Gold coin donation

Join Weaving the River artists Roger McKindley and Forest Keegel at Newstead Arts Hub in making small metal river creatures from reclaimed, recycled old iron and copper.
River Critters can be figurative or abstract forms made of reclaimed durable materials  – river shapes bubbles and swirls, fish, waterbugs, birds, frogs, plant forms, algae and anything else that connects you with the Loddon River.
The ‘river critters’ will be attached to the fence. After the workshop people can work on things at home and post pictures in the WhatsApp group or on the Weaving the River facebook page.
Everyone is welcome to attend the workshop and become a maker, you don’t have to identify as an artist.
We are seeking more people interested in making so please help get the word out to others you think may be interested.
Or you may wish to participate by donating reclaimed copper, old iron and steel. Copper sheet and wire is of particular interest because of its malleability and ease to work with and can have a good patina.
Bring materials and tools with you if you have them- safety glasses, gloves, pliers, metal cutters.
We will also provide tools so no problem if you don’t have any
