Wishing you a safe, fun season and a happy new year!

We would like to thank everyone who has had a part in making 2019 a great year at the Hub – our exhibiting artists, our volunteers, our visitors, friends and far-flung supporters.

It has been a year of warm and wonderful conversations and of diverse and inspiring art!

We have heard from community members and creative groups about their impressions and hopes for the Hub and for working together, people generous with both time and ideas. We are keen to pick up those conversations once the holiday season is over, and talk more about bringing some of those ideas to life.

We look forward to working with our community in the year to come.

All the very best for the Season, and see you in 2020.

Last day: Sunday 22 December 11am-4pm

Julie Patey, Chrisanne Blennerhassett and Tony Day

SHIFT: noun.  A slight change in position or direction.

The work of these three central Victorian artists, installed throughout the Hub space, provides lyrical and humorous insights into our changing environment, and the fluctuation of the lives we live.

On Saturday 7 December art-lovers and artists gathered at the Hub to celebrate the work, and talk about the ideas and the approaches to making that bought the show into being.

Congratulations to the exhibiting artists!

Newstead Live Makers Gallery

As part of Newstead Live, the Arts Hub will host a gallery of hand-made instruments and their makers.

A chance to see and hear some of the most skilfully crafted instruments around, and to talk to the makers about their work and their music. A perfect opportunity to buy a unique and beautiful instrument.

Our gallery walls will feature local artists: Dean McLaren – Music makers from Newstead Live; George Duckett – Piano works; Chrisanne Blennerhassett – Forest requiem; Frances Guerin – ceramics.

Everyone welcome. Gallery times: Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 January 2020, 10am – 5pm & Monday 27 27 January 10am-12 noon.

A full list of instrument makers will be on the Newstead Arts Hub website in early 2020.
