Alan Funk: White Swallow Banjos
White Swallow Banjos are made in my Adelaide home workshop, making all but, frets tuners strings & plastic heads. All metal & wooden parts are of my own design & make using brass & stainless steel for most parts. I don’t use bought in parts, I want my banjos to be truly Australian made. Styles include Jazz plectrum & tenor, bluegrass, ukulele banjos, banjo mandolin, Irish tenor, open back & 6 string guitar banjos.

Andy Rigby: Harps Made and Played

Greg McKinnon: Brookwood Guitars
There is one rule for cigar box guitars and that is “there ain’t no rules” So you build ‘em how you like, string ‘em how you like and play ‘em how you like. I always try and use reclaimed timbers whenever possible. Australian hardwoods are my speciality. My guitars are three and four string, open tuned. Recently I have introduced a steampunk range. Jack Spira: Guitars, Bouzouki

Ray Black: Banjos & Mandolins
A banjo or mandolin made by Ray Black is prized by musicians who have taken advantage of Ray’s forty years of experience and experimentation as a luthier. His 5 string and tenor banjos feature hardware fabricated and machined in his workshop. Roderick Octigan: Guitars
Roderick is a boutique builder based in the East of Melbourne.  Each instrument he creates is crafted by hand with absolute attention to detail. Using both Australian and imported tone woods, he specialises in acoustic arch tops and caters for the discerning musician who is very particular in regards to the tone, responsiveness, feel and playability of the instrument. His commitment to both the aesthetic and sonic quality of each guitar, combined with his love of creating them, means hundreds of hours are spent on each instrument and only two or three are completed each year.

Tarek Sawires: Hyde and Clay – Darabukkah drums
Tarek Sawires, Egyptian born percussionist, migrated to Australia in 1983. Tarek’s ceramic drums are beautifully crafted with an earthy and raw finish. Each drum is individually made, each having its own tone achieved simply by changing the shape and by using different types of skin.

Trevor Abraham: Chough Guitars
Chough Guitars are handcrafted stringed instruments designed and made by Trevor Abraham from his home and workshop in the small Victorian town of Buninyong.
