Due to the Coronavirus the Photographers of the Goldfields 2020 exhibition at the Newstead Arts Hub show will not be open for the final weekend in March. Thanks to everyone who supported this fabulous exhibition over the last 3 weekends.

Or if you prefer, you can contact the particular photographer to make alternative arrangements: Bronwyn Silver 044 875 1111, Patrick Kavanagh 043 766 3345, Frances Cincotta 049 110 8756, Geoff Park 041 813 8632 and Janet Barker 043 900 3469.

Arts Hub closed for April and May

We have decided to close the Arts Hub for April and May as part of our response to the Covid-19 virus and the guidance about public gatherings and venues. It was a hard decision as we had two interesting exhibitions and a workshop being planned for April and May, but looking after our community’s health was the most important consideration.

Watch our garden grow

Over the next few weeks the front of the Arts Hub building will start to be transformed. Thanks to a grant from the Maldon & District Community Bank combined with our recent fundraising dinner and art auction, we have been able to kick off development of Stage 1 of the front garden and to formalize the car parking areas. Mount Alexander Shire are contributing by upgrading the external toilet and paying for some of the pathways.

If you are interested in contributing to the work of our garden group – growing plants for example or helping with plantings – please drop us email to newsteadartshub@gmail.com.

Crossing our fingers!

We hope to reopen mid-year – perhaps June, July or August with a great program of exhibitions and workshops – fingers crossed!

See our website newsteadartshub.org for further information and updates, or to subscribe to our monthly eNews.

Our best wishes go to all of our wonderful Arts Hub Friends and visitors. Don’t forget us – we’ll be back!
